On October 25, 2014, Erica and Joe got married at the Horticulture Center in Philadelphia. Erica and her bridesmaids got ready at Erica’s parents’ home in Narberth wearing matching red plaid button up shirts. Erica and Joe’s adorable and friendly black lab Olive (great name by the way) ran around in a matching red bandanna. Nancy Caroline provided hair and makeup services, as well as a quick fishtail braid tutorial. Erica had a special first look with her dad, which was truly touching. 217 Photography and First Floor Films captured this and all of the sweet moments throughout the day, including the fun welcome home photos for their friend who had just returned that day from deployment overseas.
Since the couple didn’t see each other before the ceremony, the bride and bridesmaids waited in the Dixon Conference Room, while the lounge with furniture from AFR Rentals was the groom and groomsmen’s hang out. Both sides of the wedding party played a quick game of Cards Against Humanity while waiting for the ceremony to start. Guests were offered handkerchiefs for their happy tears, and the traditional Jewish ceremony took place in front of the lattice wall with sheer white draping accented with twinkle lights.
Erica and Joe’s fall wedding was rustic and fun, yet elegant. Beautiful Blooms created florals to match this aesthetic. The florals included large white roses, cream Lydia spray roses, white ranunculus, apricot stock, Queen Anne’s lace, and greenery. The centerpieces featured a mix of rustic lanterns, pillar candles, low mixed arrangements, and bud vases.
The Horticulture Center’s exclusive caterer, Stephen Starr Events, created a delicious menu for the couple. Cocktail hour featured two signature cocktails, the Nor’easter on the rocks (bourbon, maple, lime, and ginger beer) and the Perfect Pear (Grey Goose Poire, St. Germaine, simple syrup, lemon, champagne, and a pear sliver), as well as dishes bites such as Chicken and Ginger Dumplings, Portobello Frites, Grilled Wagyu Beef Strip, Spicy Tuna, Fragrant Shitake Mushroom Spring Roll, and Grilled Cheese & Roma Tomato Soup.
The reception kicked off the Hora, which had everyone on the dance floor. EBE Paris kept the momentum going all night long. Guests took a quick break for sweets including Classic French Macaroons, Chocolate Caramel Sea Salt Bar, Milk Chocolate Praline Pudding, Flourless Black Forest Chocolate Cake, Key Lime Mini Tarts, and Lemon Meringue Tart. The rustic 3-tier cake by the Night Kitchen Bakery was displayed on a tree stump provided by the couple.
But’s let’s start from the beginning with these awesome Mazel Tov socks…
