We love the Oscars for the obvious fashion gazing, but this year we also really enjoyed the heartfelt speeches (Jared Leto, Lupita Nyong’o, and Matthew McConaughey), Ellen’s fabulous hosting (ordering pizzas and the infamous tweeted selfie that broke twitter and the record for the most retweets), and the fact that we actually saw some of the nominated films (still HAVE to watch Dallas Buyers Club and 12 Years a Slave!).
Back to the fashion. The 86th Academy Awards Red Carpet did not disappoint. Everyone looked beautiful! Lupita Nyong’o, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Lawrence… we have so many favorites that we can’t choose just one. While there were some repeat trends from last year, there were some new standout colors and silouettes. We saw a lot of sparkly nudes, statement necklaces, plunging necklines, pleats, and dark lips. Check out some of our other favorite trends from the 2014 Oscars.
